2009 Priorities Round-Up
The 2009 legislative session marked the third time that dozens of conservation groups came together as the Oregon Conservation Network (OCN) to work on shared Priorities for a Healthy Oregon in Salem.
During the session legislators passed bills to preserve Oregon's coastal legacy, stop the spread of invasive species, and promote water conservation. At the same time, they failed to protect Oregon from liquefied natural gas (LNG), passed a large, unbalanced transportation package, and killed a bill that would have implemented a carbon cap-and-trade system in Oregon.
