Media Advisory: Summer Conversation Series
The Oregon League of Conservation Voters Education Fund to host series of forums to connect Representative Judy Stiegler and her constituents on environmental concerns
Deschutes County—Starting next week on July 22, the Oregon League of Conservation Voters Education Fund will host three forums in Deschutes County for community members to connect with Representative Judy Stiegler on key environmental issues. (See below for dates, times and locations.)
All community members are encouraged to attend and participate. Each of the three conversations will focus on only one topic. The first two forums will address creating jobs and reducing our dependence on fossil fuels—in the wake of the BP disaster—by investing in renewable energy made in the USA. The third and final forum will address reducing Oregonians’ exposure to dangerous toxics.
These issues top the list of environmental concerns for Oregonians. The forums will each be one-hour conversations facilitated by respected community leaders and featuring topic-relevant experts from partner groups: 1000 Friends of Oregon, Environment Oregon, The Oregon Environmental Council, and The Renewable Northwest Project.
