Media Advisory: Summer Conversation Series continues

Two forums left in the Oregon League of Conservation Voters Education Fund’s series on clean energy jobs and reducing exposure to toxics

Deschutes County— Last week marked the start of the Oregon League of Conservation Voters Education Fund’s Summer Conversation Series, a series of forums around the state for community members to discuss key issues of environmental and economic concern. State Representative Judy Stiegler is attending all three discussions in Bend. (See below for remaining dates, times and locations in Bend.)

All community members are encouraged to attend and participate.

Each of the three conversations focuses on only one topic. Last week’s July 22nd discussion and next week’s forum both address creating jobs and reducing our dependence on fossil fuels—in the wake of the BP disaster—by investing in renewable energy made in the USA. The third and final forum will address reducing Oregonians’ exposure to dangerous toxics.

These issues top the list of environmental concerns for Oregonians. The forums will each be one-hour conversations facilitated by respected community leaders and feature topic-relevant experts.
