Media Advisory: Summer Conversation Series continues

Two forums left in Clackamas County as part of the Oregon League of Conservation Voters Education Fund’s statewide series on clean energy jobs, balanced growth and reducing exposure to toxics

Clackamas County—Last week marked the start of the Oregon League of Conservation Voters Education Fund’s Summer Conversation Series, a series of forums around the state set up for community members to discuss key issues of environmental and economic concern. Oregon State Senator Martha Schrader is attending all three discussions in Clackamas County. The first forum there took place last week. (See below for remaining dates, times and locations.)

All community members are encouraged to attend and participate. Each of the three conversations focuses on only one topic. Last week’s forum centered around job creation through the use of renewable energy made in the USA.

The remaining topics in the series are:

  • Reducing Oregonians’ exposure to dangerous toxics
  • Balanced growth that protects our communities in the wake of the BP disaster

These issues top the list of environmental concerns for Oregonians. The forums are each one-hour conversations facilitated by respected community leaders and featuring topic-relevant experts from partner groups: 1000 Friends of Oregon, Environment Oregon, The Oregon Environmental Council, and The Renewable Northwest Project.
